The only estimates which the ESB have readily available are those which are relevant to the possible construction of a nuclear plant at Carnsore Point, County Wexford. They estimate that the cost of such a plant (a 650 megawatt light water reactor) at £455 million at 1979 prices, escalating to £858 million in the late 1980s.
