Vol. 318 No. 2

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

392.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for an applicant (details supplied) in Dublin and if priority will be given in this case.

It is expected that service will be provided following completion of the necessary cabling work about the end of the year. Priority treatment is not considered warranted but the telephone will be installed as soon as the cabling work is done.

393.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin.

I regret that it will not be possible to provide service until major underground cabling works, on which provision of service is dependent, are carried out next year.

394.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the telephone kiosk outside No. 10 Marino Park, Fairview, Dublin 3 will be removed as it is the subject of vandalism in the area.

It is expected that it will be removed in the next two months or so.

395.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in providing a telephone service for a person (details supplied) in south County Kerry who is engaged in the tourist business; the date of receipt of his application and if service will be provided before the present tourist season commences.

It was not possible to provide service for this applicant who applied on 3 September 1976 because of the exceptionally heavy construction work involved in providing service and the volume of other urgent work awaiting attention. Terms will be quoted to the applicant shortly and, if accepted, service will be provided within a further four to six months.
