Proposals for expenditure from the special employment fund of £20 million are considered by the Tripartite Standing Committee on Employment. This committee are representative of Government, the employer organisations and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions. The committee have approved a grant of £705,000 towards the construction of an air strip at Waterford.
