Vol. 318 No. 5

Written Answers. - Driving Test.

52.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of full driving licences issued as a result of his amnesty on driving test, if the amnesty is still in operation and if so, when it will cease.

The record maintained by licensing authorities does not contain the information requested by the Deputy. It may be of assistance to the Deputy, however, to know that, of those who had at 11 October 1979 applied for a driving test, 32,085 have since indicated that they do not propose to proceed with tests.

The statutory provision relating to holders of licences from other EEC countries is a continuing one. The provision relating to certain holders of provisional licences is strictly limited by the prescribed qualifying date for holding such licence.
