Vol. 319 No. 9

Written Answers. - Allihies (Cork) Group Water Scheme.

305.

asked the Minister for the Environment when grants in respect of the group water scheme at Allihies, County Cork, will be paid and if the scheme will be extended to facilitate the erection of public toilets by Cork County Council at Ballydonegan strand and pier.

State grants totalling £13,869 have been allocated by my Department to this scheme.

Work on this scheme will commence in the near future and grants will be paid to the group as work progresses.

I understand that an adequate water supply could be made available from this scheme for the erection of public toilets at Ballydonegan strand and pier. It is open to Cork County Council to furnish such a proposal consistent with the priorities of their overall work programme for sanitary services schemes in the county.
