Written Answers. - Potato Inspectors.
389.
Two inspectors are employed full-time on enforcement duties at the producer and wholesale levels and a further three will be taking up duty later in the year. In addition, 13 inspectors, who also deal with fruit and vegetable grading, are employed at the retail level. Nineteen prosecutions for apparent breaches of the regulations have already been initiated and arrangements are currently being made for prosecutions in 11 more cases.
