Vol. 321 No. 5

Written Answers. - Old Age Pension Book.

403.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when an old age pension book will be issued to a per-son (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

The person concerned has been in receipt of a widow's non-contributory pension since 13 June 1975.

A pension order book at the prebudget 1980 maximum rate of £16.80 per week, payable from 4 April 1980, was issued in March 1980 to the designated post office for collection by her. A supplementary book for £4.20 in respect of the budget increase issued recently. It has been confirmed that the supplementary pension order book is available in the designated post office for collection by her.

There is no trace in my Department of a claim for an old age pension from the person concerned. In any event she would not qualify for an old age con-tributory pension. She could opt for an old age non-contributory pension but there would be no financial advantage.
