Vol. 321 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - County Dublin Garda Strength.

284.

asked the Minister for Justice if he intends to appoint additional gardaí to the towns of Rush and Skerries, County Dublin, to cater for the extra influx of visitors during the summer months.

The detailed deployment of Garda resources is a matter to be decided primarily by the commissioner.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that it is proposed to allocate a number of the additional recruit gardaí who will be completing training next week to the Louth/Meath Division, which includes both Rush and Skerries, and that in deciding on the assignment of the extra manpower the divisional officer will have regard to the special police needs of both areas in the summer months.
