Vol. 322 No. 1

Written Answers. - Kerry Valuation Application.

326.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in dealing with the application of a person (details supplied) in County Kerry for valuation purposes; and the date this was received in the Valuation Office.

The case was first received in the Valuation Office on 11 July 1979 and the official opinion of value was notified to the Revenue Commissioners on 21 December 1979. An appeal was lodged by the applicant's solicitor and was received in the Valuation Office on 13 March 1980 and, following discussions with the solicitor, a revised official opinion of value has now been furnished to the Revenue Commissioners.

The main reason for the delay in dealing with the case was shortage of valuer staff and pressure of statutory rating work in the Valuation Office. Additional valuer staff are, however, being recruited: five have already taken up duty and a further batch are expected to take up duty shortly.
