Vol. 322 No. 7

Written Answers. - New Dublin Garda Station.

91.

asked the Minister for Justice if he has any short-or longterm plans to build or otherwise provide a Garda station to serve Palmerstown and/or Ronanstown (Rewlegh, Neilstown, Moorefield), County Dublin; and, if so, when he expects it to be in operation.

Studies which have been carried out in relation to the areas referred to indicate that the housing and other development which has occurred there and the further development which is planned in the near future justify the establishment of a new Garda Station to serve the area. The Office of Public Works has been requested to negotiate with the responsible local authority in order to procure a suitable site. Time must be allowed for the design and construction of the new station but I am hopeful that it will be in operation in about three years from now.
