(a) the amount of moneys allocated for house building for the years 1979 and 1980 and (b) the extra moneys which will be allocated to these local bodies during 1980.

The 1980 allocations represent the amounts made available to date to the authorities to fund their on-going commitments at 31 December 1979 and to fund, where appropriate, new work to be started before 31 March last. All the authorities listed above, with the exception of Enniscorthy Urban District Council, have applied further capital allocations to finance additional starts and their applications are being considered in conjunction with similar applications from other housing authorities. I cannot say when I will be in a position to make a decision on these applications.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that hundreds of families in Wexford town are in need of proper housing; and the moneys which will be allocated to Wexford Corporation to provide for a continuation of house building.
I am aware that Wexford Corporation in common with other housing authorities have a considerable number of approved housing applicants on their waiting list. The corporation have already been allocated a total of £250,000 this year to meet ongoing commitments on their local authority housing programme at 31 December last.
The corporation have applied for a further capital allocation to finance additional starts and their application is being considered in conjunction with similar applications from other housing authorities. I cannot say when I will be in a position to make a decision on the corporation's application.
