asked the Taoiseach if he will state in the form of a reply of 17 December 1970 the actual and percentage change in the consumer price index in respect of each item listed therein at (i) the latest available date in 1980 and (ii) June 1977.

The Taoiseach:

The actual and percentage change between mid-May 1977 and mid-May 1980 for the item headings distinguished in the Consumer Price Index are given in the following tables. The actual price changes are available only for those items where the identical varieties and quantities are priced in all areas and meaningful national average prices can be calculated.
