The person concerned was paid disability benefit by my Department from 13 September 1979 to 12 April 1980. Payment was disallowed after that date following examination by a medical referee of my Department who expressed the opinion that he was capable of work.
He has appealed against the decision disallowing his claim for disability benefit and, in connection with his appeal, arrangements were made for a further medical referee examination on 20 June 1980. The examination on 20 June 1980 was carried out by two medical referees who also considered that he is capable of work. His case is now being referred to an appeals officer for determination.
