It is a matter for each local authority to implement the tenant purchase schemes notified to them annually by way of circular letter from my Department and I have no direct function in the implementation of such schemes.
I understand that the Ballinasloe Urban Council has not yet made a tenant purchase scheme for 1979 or for 1980 due to difficulties encountered in establishing the all-in costs of certain houses on which the sale prices are based. When these difficulties have been resolved the terms of the 1979 scheme will apply to all applications to purchase received between 1 January 1979 and 31 December 1979.
