Vol. 323 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions . Oral Answers . - Boyle Drainage Scheme

39.

asked the Minister for Finance if in view of his reply to parliamentary question 279 of 27 May 1979 that work would commence on the Boyle catchment area, including the Lung river, he will state the up-to-date position regarding same.

: Some statutory requirements still need to be complied with in connection with the Boyle drainage scheme. Subject to these being complied with, it is expected that works will commence early next year.

: Why did they not carry out the promises that were made on 27 May 19790

: The statutory period for submitting observations has expired and, as the Deputy knows, we have to notify all Departments and we have not got a report back from two Departments as yet. When we get that we will proceed.

: If they do not come in in the next 12 months will the situation be the same then?

: And does it not matter if there is a shortage of money. The only place there is plenty of money now is Donegal.
