Vol. 325 No. 7

Written Answers. - Water and Sewage Schemes.

416.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has sanctioned the new water scheme for Bundoran, County Donegal; and, if so, when work will commence.

Contract documents for the Bundoran water supply scheme have been approved and the submission of tenders for the carrying out of the work is awaited in my Department.

417.

asked the Minister for the Environment in view of the fact that the county council cannot commence work until such approval is given when sanction will be forthcoming for the following works: (i) Kilkelly, Mulranny, Cong and Dooagh and Dooagh/Pollagh/Keel sewage disposal schemes and (ii) Tourmakeady water supply scheme, stages (1) and (2) and Achill water supply scheme, stage 4A.

Contract documents for the Kilkelly, Mulranny, Cong and the Dooagh/Pollagh/Keel sewage schemes are at present under consideration in my Department. The proposals included in the latter scheme will serve the village of Dooagh and there are no separate proposals for this village before my Department. I am not in a position to indicate when decisions thereon can be conveyed to the local authority.

Contract documents for stage 4A of the Achill regional water supply scheme were submitted to my Department on 24 November 1980 and are at present under examination.

The question of serving the Tourmakeady area by means of group development and the extent of the headworks to be provided by Mayo County Council are at present being investigated by my Department and the council.
