asked the Minister for Education if any higher education grants, or other financial assistance, by way of maintenance or payment of fees is available to persons who undertake the full-time course in the principles of teaching art; if he is aware that a number of persons anxious to undertake this course on a full-time basis suffer considerable hardship because they are obliged to give up full-time or part-time employment to undertake this course; and if he will review the situation and make a statement on the matter.

Students who have held scholarships from the vocational education committee or higher education grants to complete approved courses in art may, subject to the terms of the relevant regulations, have their awards continued in respect of attendance at the full-time one-year course in the principles of teaching art.
