Vol. 326 No. 12

Written Answers. - Public Health Nurses.

259.

asked the Minister for Health if a study was carried out about four years ago which showed that public health nurses were overworked; and the measures which have been taken since then to alleviate the situation.

A study group which was set up in 1971 to investigate the workload of public health nurses reported in 1975 that the number of public health nurses should be increased to 1,152. Since the publication of that report the number of approved posts of public health nurse has been increased to this figure.
