The information sought by the Deputy, in so far as it is available, is set out in the following statement. Allocations for the various services referred to by the Deputy are made on an annual basis and it is not, therefore, possible to give a breakdown in the form requested. Also in view of the extent of the powers devolved on local authorities to execute works under general rather than specific Departmental sanction and the use of the block grant system of allocating funds to local authorities, it is not possible to give a breakdown of the allocations by reference to specific schemes.
