asked the Minister for Education the reason the promised report on the condition of Ballinameela national school, County Waterford, has not been forthcoming; and when it is proposed to commence work on repairs and on the extension to this school.

Following a detailed examination of the primary school needs of the parish of Ballinameela, County Waterford, it has been decided that Whitechurch national school, Ballinameela, should be extended so as to provide accommodation in four suitable classrooms and a general purposes room. A report on the feasibility of this proposal is awaited from the Commissioners of Public Works who have also been asked to report on necessary repairs to the prefabricated classrooms pending their replacement.

asked the Minister for Education the reason the promised report on the condition of Aglish national school, County Waterford, has not been forthcoming; and when it is proposed to start work on a replacement school.

Following an extensive investigation of the primary school needs of the Aglish area, it has been decided that the existing school should be replaced by a new school. The school authorities have been asked to submit details of the site for the proposed new school so that the Commissioners of Public Works may assess its suitability. At this stage, it is not possible to state when building may commence.
