A house improvement grant will be paid in this case when an inspection establishes that work has been satisfactorily completed and is in order for payment. On a recent inspection the work was found to be incomplete.

There is no record in my Department of an application for a house improvement grant for the person named.

(Cavan-Monaghan): asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Cavan is an applicant for a home improvement grant; the date on which he applied; the date on which he requested an inspection of the work which has been completed; when an inspection will be carried out and the grant paid; and if he will explain the delay in making payment.
The person named applied to my Department for a house improvement grant on 4 December 1979. A request for an inspection was received on 5 November 1980. The inspector called in December but he was unable to gain admittance as the applicant was not at home. The applicant was informed accordingly and was asked to suggest a suitable date for a further inspection. A further request for an inspection was received on 20 January 1981 and this will be carried out as soon as possible.
Any delay in the Department has been due to the large number of grant applications being processed.

(Cavan-Monaghan): asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Cavan applied for a home improvement or reconstruction grant and water and sewerage grants, if so, the date or dates on which he applied; the amount of the grant or grants allocated; the amount paid; and when the remainder of the grants due will be paid.
My Department has no record of any housing grant application from the person named.
