Vol. 328 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Committee on Industrial Relations Report.

19.

asked the Minister for Labour when the report of the Committee on Industrial Relations will be published.

I expect to receive the report of the Commission on Industrial Relations next month. The usual arrangements will be made to have the report laid before the House and published.

Could I ask the Minister of State whether the Minister for Labour has read the report in the Sunday Tribune purporting to be a report of the Committee on Industrial Relations?

Yes, we have seen that report.

Could I ask the Minister of State if the Minister for Labour has instituted an inquiry as to how the purported report was leaked to the newspaper?

That is all newspaper speculation. I am not accountable for what is written in newspapers. The Minister for Labour is not accountable either.

I asked if there has been an inquiry into how this report was leaked. Would the Minister not agree that the fact that the report was leaked could damage the acceptability of the report when it comes eventually to be published?

I did not get a report to say that there was any leak.

Can I give you notice, in view of the unsatisfactory nature of the replies and in view of the fact that the Minister for Labour is not present, that I wish to raise this matter on the adjournment next Tuesday?

The Deputy will have to raise the matter again on Tuesday.

I am giving you notice now and I expect the Minister for Labour to be here.

The Deputy will have to give me notice on Tuesday if he wishes to raise this matter.
