Vol. 328 No. 11

Written Answers. - Mountain Commonage.

47.

andMr. Mannion asked the Minister for Agriculture when it is proposed to introduce legislation in relation to the division of mountain commonage.

Special incentives to encourage commonage division with the consent of the shareholders concerned are contained in the package of measures to assist agriculture in the West of Ireland, which was recently brought into operation. The assistance available includes generous grants towards the cost of fencing, reclamation and surface treatment of the divided commonages.

Special legislation is not envisaged.
