Notes

1 The main control functions under the Act including the licensing of discharges to water are vested in county councils, county borough corporations and the Corporation of Dun Laoghaire. Urban authorities as sanitary authorities are however responsible for licensing of discharges to sewers in their areas.

2 The figures given in the table are the total number of licences issued from the coming into operation of the Act to 30 June 1981.
