Vol. 330 No. 12

Written Answers. - County Galway National School Repairs.

596.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the need to have repairs carried out to Carnmore national school, Carnmore, County Galway; and the up-to-date position in view of the urgency of the problem.

It is proposed to replace Carnmore national school, Carnmore, County Galway, and working drawings are nearing completion for the proposed new school.

It is open to the reverend chairman of the board of management to have essential repairs carried out pending the building of the new school. My Department's circulars of 1977 and 1981 concerning improvements to national schools offer guidance in this respect. I regret that more school authorities have not taken up the opportunities presented by the grants available and notified to all primary schools by way of these circulars.
