This grant will be paid shortly.

633.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a decision will be made authorising Dublin Corporation to sanction a grant for a person (details supplied) in Dublin in order to carry out an extension to his house to facilitate his severely handicapped son, as a recommendation has been submitted to his Department in this respect because of the particular circumstances of the case.

It is hoped to issue a decision this week on this case.

634.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in carrying out a final inspection in respect of the £1,000 new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

There has been no undue delay in this case. An inspection will be arranged when the applicant submits, as requested on 26 October 1981 a house plan, site plan, detailed specification and planning permission to my Department for examination.

635.

asked the Minister for the Environment to whom and when an improvement grant was given in respect of work carried out at a site (details supplied) in County Dublin.

A new house grant was paid to the firm that built this house in two instalments, 10 July 1973 and 11 November 1974.

636.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have an inspection carried out and a house improvement grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Under the Housing Regulations 1980, as amended, it was necessary for payment of a house improvement grant that the works be satisfactorily completed and a claim for payment received in the Department on or before 30 June 1981. As this statutory requirement was not complied with in this case, the grant cannot be paid and an inspection would serve no useful purpose.

637.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will now pay a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

This grant will be paid shortly.

638.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will expedite the payment of a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and that the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with.

639.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate inspection of a house for a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon; and if he will expedite the payment of the £1,000 new house grant.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been completed and occupied and that the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with.

640.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; the amount of the grant; and the reason £1,000 is not being paid.

A higher rate of new house grant of £350 under the former grants scheme was paid to this applicant on 19 October 1981. He is not eligible for the £1,000 grant as his house was commenced prior to 26 May 1977.

641.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will make arrangements to pay the new £3,000 house mortgage subsidy; and when the first payments will be made.

Arrangements have been made to pay the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy to eligible applicants who have met the conditions attaching to the scheme. Payments are being made at present.

642.

(Wexford) asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

643.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the application was submitted in time.

Under the Housing Regulations 1980, as amended, it was necessary for payment of a house improvement grant that the works be satisfactorily completed and a claim for payment received in the Department on or before 30 June 1981. As this statutory requirement was not complied with in this case a grant cannot now be paid.
