I have given no instructions to the Land Commission regarding the acquisition of lands specifically in the west of Ireland. I have, however, instructed them to concentrate their attention on completing proceedings at present in train for the acquisition of properties generally throughout the country, comprising some 12,000 hectares, and on dividing the very substantial area of lands in their possession, totalling some 28,000 hectares.
