Mr. Thomas Ferris, who has been seconded on a temporary basis to a newlycreated post of senior economist in my Department, pending the filling of the post by means of an open competition to be conducted by the Civil Service Commissioners, was previously employed as an economist with the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society.
I might mention that Mr. Ferris was on secondment from the same organisation to the Oireachtas Joint Committee on State-Sponsored Bodies as an economic consultant between 1 January 1979 and 30 September 1981.
