The reverend chairman of the school management board was authorised on 15 February 1982 to accept a tender for the erection of a new national school for Scoil Iognáid. I understand that building work has commenced.
The new school will consist of 12 classrooms, a remedial room, a library/medical inspection room, a general purposes room, a staff room, and ancillary accommodation. Playing facilities, including a ballcourt, are being provided also.
