Contract documents for this scheme which have been submitted to my Department by Galway County Council, are under consideration at present. The local authorities proposals for the scheme must be considered in the context of the amount of capital available for water and sewerage schemes generally, and the need to provide finance for the large number of fully approved schemes in progress or getting to construction in County Galway including the following:—
Killimor sewerage scheme; Dunmore/Glenamaddy water supply scheme; Inishmore water supply improvement scheme; Mid-Galway water supply scheme; Galway City West water supply scheme — contracts Number 1 and 3; Galway City East water supply scheme — contracts Numbers 3, 4, 5 and 9.
In the circumstances I cannot say when I will be in a position to convey a decision on the contract documents for the Rosmuc scheme to the local authority.
