Vol. 333 No. 6

Written Answers. - St. Vincent's Hospital (Dublin).

78.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of the difficulty in providing beds for patients at St. Vincent's Hospital, Elm Park, Dublin, due to pressure on all the available space and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware that there is some short term difficulty in meeting demands for admission to St. Vincent's Hospital and that for example cold admissions, that is nonemergency cases, were recently stopped for a few days. Steps are being taken to relieve the pressure on accommodation.

I might say, also, that discussions are taking place between my Department and the hospital in regard to its long-term development.
