asked the Minister for Education whether his Department will make a grant for the provision of a new roof at St. Nicholas's national School, Claddagh, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As stated in the official letter of 26 February last to the Deputy, a grant has been sanctioned for the provision of a new roof to St. Nicholas's National School, Claddagh, County Galway.

I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works that plans and specifications for the scheme are being prepared and that it is envisaged that the work will be undertaken during the summer holidays.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 818, 819, and 820 together.

My Department have agreed that Bree national school, Enniscorthy, County Wexford, should be extended to provide accommodation in five classrooms, a general purposes room and ancillary accommodation. The Commissioners of Public Works have been asked to furnish a feasibility study showing how this accommodation may be provided.

Grants have recently been sanctioned towards the cost of the provision of blinds and new lighting facilities at St. Joseph's national school, Michael Street, New Ross, County Wexford. The Commissioners of Public Works will advise the school authorities of the arrangements for the provision of the lighting facilities at the school.
