Vol. 334 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Department of Health Properties.

18.

asked the Minister for Health if he will list the properties (i) owned or leased by his Department and (ii) Occupied by his Department but owned by the Office of Public Works in Dublin County Borough at present; the properties which are considered to be derelict; and the action he proposes to take to bring them into use.

Accommodation leased for my Department is done through the Office of Public Works and particulars will be given by that office.

There are 54 acres of land at Cabra, off the Navan Road vested in the Minister for Health. This was originally acquired as a site for a new St. Laurence's Hospital but, following the decision to erect a new hospital at Beaumont, it is no longer required for such purpose. It is not derelict and its transfer for other purposes is under way.

Will the Minister indicate what "its transfer for other purposes" will involve?

That is a separate question. The transfer is to the corporation and the Office of Public Works. We are concerned only with the transfer to them, with the valuation and the arrangements for a site for the Tallaght hospital, one of the arrangements being made in this context.

Question No. 19 postponed.
