The appointment of teachers in national schools is a matter for the school board of management subject to the Rules for National Schools and the prescribed procedure for the making of appointments. I am informed that the procedures adopted by the board of management in this case were in order.
Training college students in their final year of training are eligible for appointment as national teachers, subject to passing their final examinations.
