asked the Minister for the Environment the priority list for water schemes in County Louth; and the approximate dates for the commencement of work on each scheme.

My Department have not received any priority list for water schemes from the local authorities in Louth.

The following is a list of water schemes for which the local authorities in Louth have submitted proposals to my Department, and the present position of each scheme.

Water Supply Scheme

(a) Louth County Council

Tender and Local Loans Fund loan approved.

—Cooley Regional Water Supply Scheme

Work about to commence.

—Dunleer Regional Water Supply Scheme

Preliminary report approved. Council to submit

contract documents for Stage 1.

—Tullyallen Water Supply Scheme

Alternative source established by Council in

1980. Further submission awaited.

(b) Dundalk Urban District Council

Preliminary report approved. Inquiry to be held

—Fane Water Supply Augmentation Scheme

into objections to water rights proposal and land

acquisition order.

(c) Drogheda Corporation

Corporation to submit revised contract

—Marley's Lane/River Boyne/ Leonards

documents.

Apart from the Cooley Regional Water Scheme, I am not in a position to indicate when work may commence on schemes.

Approval to acceptance of tender for tidal survey issued to Council. Further submissions awaited from Council.
