asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry (a) the amount of occupational pension, at 40 years service, first paid on retirement on 10 January 1980, to forest workers on basic pay (top of scale) with national average bonus applicable as at 1 January 1980, and (b) other forest workers who retired immediately following each change in basic pay to date indicating: (1) date of change, in pay; (2) retiring pay; (3) pensionable pay; (4) occupational pension; (5) basic social welfare pension; and (6) combined pension as per cent of retiring pay, and also to state the bonus element in the retiring pay.

The examples given below are based on the rate of pay for all areas excluding Dublin.

(a) A person who retired on 1 January 1980 with 40 years reckonable service would have received a pension of £798.96p.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the particulars of an occupational pension first paid or payable to a forest worker having 40 years service on retirement on basic pay and national average bonus (100%) on 1 January 1980, indicating: (1) retiring pay; (2) occupational pension and (3) social welfare basic pension on 1 January 1980 and (4) the corresponding position on review of pension as at 1 July 1981, and 1982; and also if he will state the amount of occupational pension payable at each stage for 30 years service, as at 1 January 1980 and at each review up to 1 July 1982; the national average bonus in retiring pay on 1 January 1980, and the occupational pension as a percentage of the pay for forest workers at each change in date.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he will give the rate of pay approved for forest workers (top of scale) under the public service pay agreement 1982, and the operative date, and the deduction from pay (and bonus) under the Social Welfare Acts, the Health Services Acts, etc., applicable as at mid-April 1982, as follows: (1) basic pay (top of scale), plus national average bonus (and the amount of bonus); (2) deduction for social insurance per week and percentage of pay; (3) deduction for health services per week and percentage of pay; (4) deductions for health services per week and percentage of pay; (5) other statutory deductions and percentage of pay; and (6) total deductions per week and percentage of pay.
