Vol. 334 No. 9

Written Answers. - Disabled Person's Allowances.

699.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that a young woman suffering from multiple sclerosis who receives a disabled person's maintenance allowance and free travel allowance and who has a general medical services card has been told that on her proposed marriage she will lose all these; if he will confirm this situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The decision to maintain or withdraw the services mentioned will be a matter for the chief executive officer of the appropriate health board. In the absence of the identity of the person concerned I cannot inquire into the position but if the Deputy will provide this information I will be glad to make inquiries on her behalf.
