Vol. 335 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dublin Water Pressure.

1010.

(Dublin North-West) asked the Minister for the Environment if there are any plans to improve the dangerous low water pressure in the Ballymun-Finglas, Glasnevin and Santry areas of Dublin.

The maintenance and operation of existing public water supplies in Dublin city is a matter for Dublin Corporation. I understand from the corporation that parts of the Finglas-Ballymun-Santry area are so elevated in relation to the Ballycoolen reservoir which supplies them that it is difficult to keep water pressures at reasonable levels. Measures to overcome the problem are under consideration and a proposal is expected to be placed before the City Council later this year.
