Vol. 335 No. 1

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

778.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin whose business is suffering as a result of having no telephone and in view of the fact that there is already a telephone apparatus in the shop which has been disconnected.

Within about a year.

The cable pair which previously served the premises is no longer available.

779.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the telephone of a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow will be re-connected in view of the over-charging in respect of telephone rental which has occurred since 1980.

This subscriber has not been overcharged in respect of rental. There has, however, been some misunderstanding on the position. The subscriber is being written to and the matter explained to him. Telephone service has been restored meantime.

780.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a transfer of telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Swords, County Dublin, who is a chief fire officer.

Telephone service will be provided as soon as possible for the person named who is employed by a commercial company. Regrettably it is unlikely that the necessary cabling can be completed for about a year.

781.

A survey is being carried out to ascertain when it will be possible to provide telephone service for the person named. He will be advised of the position when the survey is completed.

782.

A transfer of service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that it will be possible to do so for about a year.
