These pensions are not co-ordinated with the social welfare pensions; members of the CIE regular wages staff pension schemes are entitled to the full social welfare pensions.
The current rate of contributory social welfare pension is £40.25 per week for a single person and £65.95 for a married couple with variations upwards depending on recipient's age and age of recipient's wife.

Great Southern Railways Company Pension Scheme for Regular Wages Staff as confirmed by the Transport Act, 1944 (section 45) Order, 1945 (SR & O. 1945 No. 55) and amended by an amending scheme confirmed by the Minister for Industry and Commerce on the 31st day of October, 1957 and subsequently further amended by schemes confirmed by Statutory Instruments numbered 57 of 1961, 49 of 1965, 8 of 1967, 59 of 1969, 78 of 1971, 250 of 1974, 289 of 1977 and 75 of 1980.
