Vol. 335 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

833.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment the cause of the delay in paying a grant in respect of a new house to a person (details supplied) in County Cavan; and when the grant will be paid.

Any delay in processing this case arises from the submission of two applications — one from the builders under the old scheme of grants and the other from the person named under the current scheme. A grant cannot be paid until the matter is clarified.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the long delay in processing an application for a grant under the old reconstruction scheme by a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The applicant was informed on 29 January 1982 that a grant could not be allowed because the works carried out did not comply with the required standards. Following representations which have since been received on behalf of the applicant the application is currently being reviewed. A final decision will be given when the further report, which has been requested of the Department's inspector, is received.

835.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

836.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant and £3,000 subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

A grant of £1,000 has been paid in this case. The first instalment of the subsidy will be paid when the applicant submits the relevant claim form, if in order.

837.

The approval of this grant is awaiting the submission by the applicant of evidence of planning permission in respect of the proposed septic tank. This was requested by my Department on 11 February 1982.

838.
