In the context of proposed drainage of the Dunkellin River in County Galway by the Office of Public Works, my Department are at present carrying out a study on the effects which such drainage would be likely to have on areas of ecological value in the river's catchment, including Rahasane Turlough near Craughwell.
Because of its comprehensive nature, it is not possible at this stage to indicate when the study will be completed but there will be no avoidable delay in the matter.
