Vol. 335 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

801.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Waterford will receive payment of a new house grant; and if he will confirm the amount of grant that this person will receive.

An application for a new house grant has not been made to my Department by the person named. I understand however, that he has applied for a grant to Roinn na Gaeltachta to whom the Deputy should direct further inquiries. He has applied to my Department for the £3,000 mortgage subsidy and has received provisional approval. Payment of the subsidy will not arise until a new house grant has been paid.

802.

(Waterford) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

A grant cannot be paid until an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and that the other conditions applying for the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

803.

(Waterford) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant has not yet been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

My Department had not been notified that the works have been completed in this case. A decision on the amount of the grant will be made shortly and a certificate of approval will be issued to the applicant.
