The person referred to in the Deputy's question will, subject to certain conditions as to means, be eligible for consideration for the grant of an allowance when, as announced in this year's budget, the allowance payable to widows of special allowance holders will be extended in July next to certain other widows of veterans of the War of Independence who are not eligible under the present provisions. She will be notified when details of the new scheme are available.
