A grant cannot be paid in this case as the applicant has failed to establish, despite repeated requests, that on or before 21 January 1980, (a) the work had commenced, or (b) a contract for the carrying out of the relevant works had been entered into, or (c) the necessary materials had been purchased.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the works had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position in relation to the grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Galway.
Grants in respect of an additional bedroom, bathroom and chimney were sought in this case. These grants cannot be allowed as the inspector's report indicates that overcrowding does not exist and there are already a bathroom and chimney in the house.
