asked the Minister for Education if he will confirm that formal sanction will be given for proposed alterations to a school (details supplied) in Driminagh, Dublin 12, as the school is now co-educational and has submitted plans for woodwork rooms, arts and crafts rooms etc., if in view of the fact that his Department gave verbal sanction in January last, he will now confirm the sanction as the school is most anxious to have the rooms in use by September; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department recently authorised the manager to seek tenders for a scheme of alterations to the post-primary school in Driminagh, Dublin referred to by the Deputy. When the tenders have been received and examined by my Department, the question of placing a contract will be considered immediately.
