asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the reason for the delay in granting a lease for a site at Dinish Island, County Cork, to Castletownbere boat club, bearing in mind that the arrangement was fully negotiated some time ago; and if he will now arrange for the grant of the lease forthwith as the club has been allocated a grant under the youth employment scheme for immediate development.

A site on Dinish Island has been allocated to the Castletownbere boat club subject to a satisfactory lease being negotiated. The delay in drawing up the lease is due to difficulties being experienced in reaching agreement on an acceptable plan particularly in regard to access to the island road. Discussions are continuing and I expect early agreement.
