asked the Minister for the Environment if he has taken any action to ensure that county and city managers obtain the list of all persons who are required to declare their interests in relation to their activities in the functional area of the county council pursuant to section 32 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1976; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Section 32 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1976, places a statutory duty on each person to whom the section applies to give a signed declaration in the prescribed form of interests in land to which the section relates. The provisions of the section were brought to the attention of planning authorities when it came into force. The maintenance of the register of interests required under the section is a matter for each planning authority and one in which I have no function.
