With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 711 to 714, inclusive, together.
Under the national programme for the provision of recreational facilities launched in 1980 my Department approved grants towards the cost of providing community recreational facilities in Skerries and in Portmarnock. The grant approved in the case of Skerries was £106,000 and of this amount a total of £81,359 has been paid to date by my Department. A grant of £166,000 was approved in the case of Portmarnock and payments to date amount to £142,321.
Payments will continue to be made in the normal manner in both these cases until the approved maximum grant figure is reached. In addition further grants of £40,000 in the case of Skerries and £80,000 in the case of Portmarnock were provisionally allocated earlier this year under the community, youth, recreational and employment programme. The grant of £80,000 has recently been paid to Portmarnock Community Association and the additional £40,000 allocated to Skerries Development and Community Association will be paid shortly.
