asked the Minister for Trade, Commerce and Tourism the average cost to the Exchequer per complaint investigated by the Priceline service, including staff, rent, accommodation, travel, legal and all other relevant costs.
Written Answers. - Price Complaints.
437.
The work of the Priceline service and of the inspectorate who operate the service covers many activities other than the investigation of complaints. Any attempt to isolate the cost of investigating complaints would require a detailed and time-consuming investigation of the position under each particular heading and the expenditures involved would not appear to be warranted in terms of the results to be achieved.
